Skylathar Geography and Power Structure

The continent of Skylathar contains three large countries.

To the north-east lies Drakenheim, the Tyranny of the Great Wyrm Vorthar the Worldeater.

To the south-east lies Jotunland, the Dominion of Giants, which is also home of the Stone Fist Confederacy, the confederation of the 5 dwarven jarldoms.

And to the West lies the Province of Lunessence where Daisygate is found.

Drakenheim and Jotunland is in a state of never-ending state of war ranging back to the time of myth and legend. The war allows Daisygate to thrive in peace.

The three countries are separated by three rivers that spring from a central mighty lake called The Grail of Equinor.

The three rivers are combined known as The Chains of Equinor. The three rivers are:

  • Everstream separating Drakenheim from Jotunland.
  • Titan’s Vein dividing Jotunland from the Province of Lunessence.
  • Wyrmflow running between Drakenheim and Lunessence.

Province of Lunessence

The Province of Lunessence is ruled by the High Council of Lunessence formed by the lords and ladies of the regions. The High Council convenes twice a year in Aeonspire Citadel.

  • Daisygate – Biggest city of Lunessence due to its thriving trade both within Skylathar and with different countries across the oceans.
    • Ruled by the young Lady Elowen Quillsmith who have yet to take a spouse. She took the throne when her father Thalion and mother Lyrielle drowned during a storm.

    • – Ruled by Lord Thalric Timberheart.
  • Shieldstone – Mining city located in the eastern mountainside of Wyrmshield Heights at the edge of the river Wyrmflow. Shieldstone is also known for the most lush and delicious ale in Lunessence.

  • Titan’s Landing – Trading harbour city located southwest by the river Titan’s Vein. The city is the main trading post with Jotunland.
    • Ruled by the halfling Harbourmistress Maribeth Saltfoot known for her short stature (even for a halfling) and her explosive temper.
  • Millhaven – While the town itself is smaller than the other cities, it is the governing city of the largest region of mostly farmlands, agriculture and windmills. Millhaven is also home to The Harvest Blades, an elite soldier clan sworn to protect the lands of Millhaven.
    • Ruled by Warden Tharok Ironplow, half-orc male with a slow to anger and quick to laughter attitude.
  • Aeonspire Citadel – Home of the wizards Zalthenna and Zaltar Evergaze. While not technically a city , the wizards are a power by themselves and as such has a seat on the High Council of Luminessence.

Daisygate

Daisygate lies on the south-eastern shore of Lunessence out towards Dawnsea.

It is protected by Skyshard Peaks to the north and the dangerous Wildshade Forest to the west making it well protected on all sides.

While Wildshade Forest is dangerous to enter, the natural residue from the forest (such as fallen leaves etc) makes the plains between the forest and the city, fertile. They are know as the Fields of Flourish and provide more than enough harvest for the city and the visiting ships.

The harbour of Daisygate was naturally formed thousands of years ago by a meteor impact that formed Skyshard Peaks and created the round, protective shape around the harbour known as Starfall Bay.
