Daisygate
Daisygate lies on the south-eastern shore of Lunessence out towards Dawnsea. and is the biggest city of Lunessence due to its thriving trade both within Skylathar and with different countries across the oceans.
It is protected by Skyshard Peaks to the north and the dangerous Wildshade Forest to the west making it well protected on all sides.
While Wildshade Forest is dangerous to enter, the natural residue from the forest (such as fallen leaves etc) makes the plains between the forest and the city, fertile. They are know as the Fields of Flourish and provide more than enough harvest for the city and the visiting ships.
The harbour of Daisygate was naturally formed thousands of years ago by a meteor impact that formed Skyshard Peaks and created the round, protective shape around the harbour known as Starfall Bay.
Governance
Daisygate is ruled by the relatively young and beloved Lady Elowen Quillsmith who have yet to take a spouse. She took the throne after her father Thalion and mother Lyrielle’s untimely deaths at sea during a storm.
Locations
Artisan Quarters
Also know derogatory as Sparkleville. This is where we find most of the gold- and sliver smiths, the dress-, bag-, shoe and hat makers, the lawyers, the doctors, the scribes, theatres, spas and everything else fanciful a city has to offer.
Artisan Quarters is also home to the most powerful guilds and embassies of the city.
Divine Petals – Bridal is found in the Artisan Quarters.
Bayview
In most harbour towns the area around the actual docks are generally less attractive real estate, but not so in Daisygate. The Bayview area is the home of the rich and famous of the city including Bayview Manor home of the Lord and Lady of Daisygate.
The Commons
The biggest area of Daisygate and home to most of its residence known as Daisydwellers, most of which have a fondness for the legends of the Fey eventhough few believe them to be real.
Children of the Glimmmer, a loosely formed organisation dedicated to the return of the Fey. Most participate mainly as an excuse to be involved in the colourful Dance of the Glimmer festival that takes place at mid-summer.
Gutters
The Gutters is the seedier part of Daisygate probably developed that way due to its proximity to Tinker Town. This is the home of the poor, the criminals and the creatures of the night.
The Moonshadow Collective, the guild of criminals such as thieves, robbers and assassins is rumoured to be located in the Gutters. truth is nobody knows if such a guild even exist.
Newgate
A more recent suburb that has developed outside the citywalls to the south to accommodate the ever expanding population.
Newgaters are generally fey-sceptics, who don’t believe any of the any of the fairytales about fey people.
The exception is the The Iron Masquarade, a shadowy group of fanatics who meet in secret all wearing masks of iron. Contrary to common beliefs, they believe the Fey to be very real… and an very real threat.
Thornlock
In the centre of Daisygate is one of the most unusual quarters of the city: Thornlock, an extremely densely populated and largely lawless enclave right in the middle of the city.
Houses upon houses, shacks upon shacks are built into a chaotic, claustrophobic, unmapped maze that seems to defy both gravity and comfort. Yet, Thornlock is full of life and enterprise.
Entering Thornlock is in itself a daunting task as there’s no immediate entrance and it is rare for the citizens of Daisygate to even know anybody who have ever entered Thornlock.
Tinker Town
A scrappy shanty town of goblins just outside the city walls to the north. Nobody really know why the goblins decided to set up camp some 70-80 years ago and while it makes the citizens of Daisygate uneasy, the goblins are generally keeping to themselves.
